Q. Manage Linux server by Webmin web-based control panel. How can I install Webmin on linux server??

Most of the Linux web-hosting provides the web-based control panel to manage the Linux server. Ever you thought, can you manage our Linux server from the web-based tool like web-hosting companies provide? Yes, you can. In this article, I will let you know, how to install Webmin on CentOS 7 server.

Install Webmin

The Webmin project gives the repository to install the Webmin. We need to add that repository in our CentOS server.

On CentOS 7 Server:

# vi /etc/yum.repos.d/webmin.repo

Paste the following code in the new repo.

[Webmin] name=Webmin Distribution Neutral
baseurl=http://download.webmin.com/download/yum
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc

Repository is added. Now install the webmin.

# sudo yum -y install webmin
Install webminInstall webmin

Webmin is installed, now start the webmin service.

# systemctl start webmin

We need to allow the Webmin listening port from the firewall. By default Webmin port number is 10000.

# firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=10000/tcp
# firewall-cmd --reload

Final step is to open the web-browser and open it by https://server-ip-address:10000

You can login with the server root user credentials.
