How can I install skype on Ubuntu 18.04 machine??
As per my experience, the organization prefers a skype application for communication. It provides free voice and video calling. Can share the screen with other users as well.
It’s very important for the system administrator to know how to install skype on the machine. Here we will use Ubuntu 18.04 machine.
For the installation, superuser rights are needed.
Skype does not come with the default repositories. We need to download the debian package from the internet. Run the following command
# wget https://go.skype.com/skypeforlinux-64.deb
This command will download the skype package. Next step is to install the downloaded package. For this, use the below command.
# sudo dpkg -i skypeforlinux-64.deb
Skype is installed. Now you can open the skype. Just type the skypeforlinux in the terminal and hit enter.
